Ad.O.P.T. Northern Ireland

N. Ireland support group for people going through the adoption process. Mainly deals with domestic adoption. This is NOT associated with this website even though the name is very similar ..... great minds think alike!! :-)

AdoptionUK

This was formerly known as PPIAS (Parent to Parent Information on Adoption Services) and changed it's name to AdoptionUK in 1999.
AdoptionUK is a support group for anyone who has an interest in adoption and is NOT specific to Overseas Adoption. AdoptionUK have support groups around N.Ireland and meet regularly.

Amazon Books

Any book you ever wanted!  For all those who are amazed at the internet ... prepare to lift your jaw off the carpet!  I'd be interested to hear of a book that was not available from Amazon.  This is a great site but it might be cheaper to try the UK site first.

Celebrate the Child

This site offers a range of resources including dolls of various nationalities and support material such as videos and books. Be careful when purchasing through mail order as some people have experienced very considerable delays.
It is an American site and some of the material can only be shipped to addresses in the USA. Tip ..... have a nosey at the site for ideas and then check if it is available through Amazon.

China Centre for Adoption Affairs (CCAA)

This is the body that co-ordinates the adoption process in China. It includes information on the process in China. Having seen it once there is probably no real benefit in returning to the site ........ but when you are waiting for a referral letter you have to occupy your mind some way!! The site does not appear to be updated very frequently.

OASIS

The Overseas Adoption Support and Information Service (OASIS) is a volunatry organisation with a wealth of information. For a small annual fee you become a member and they will provide help and information in a number of areas. Membership can be applied for through their website.
